During today's Quarterly Financial Results Briefing from Nintendo, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata confirmed that a new 3D (in terms of visual display, not game design) version of Excitebike (part of a new "3D Classics" series) will be available as a free download from the Nintendo 3DS eShop around the end of May as an incentive for 3DS owners to utilize the 3DS's network capabilities. It is not yet known if this offer or even if the game itself will be available outside of Japan.
